We earlier brought you the news of LG G3 Beat getting launched in India in the August-September time frame when LG launched the G3 back in July in the country. Well, the LG G3 Beat has just gone up for pre-ordering in the country for Rs 24,999 on an online e-commerce retailer Infibeam.com. The pre-order prices are usually a bit high so the final pricing might be lower by a couple of thousand which would bring the device in the ballpark of the likes of Desire 816.

The LG G3 Beat is basically a cheaper version of the LG G3 and is targeted at a wider audience. It has the same design philosophy and UI as the flagship counterpart but features a spec sheet which is mid range to say the least. The device comes with a 5.5 inch 720p display and has a 74.1 percent screen to body ratio. The devices has pretty slim bezels for a mid ranger and features the volume buttons at the rear like the LG G3.

Powering the LG G3 Beat is a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with an Adreno 305 GPU and a 1GB RAM. The processing and multitasking department is what you usually get in mid rangers priced around the Rs 12,000-15,000 mark as the 2nd generation Moto G has the same internals. It costs Rs 12,999 which is almost half of what the LG G3 does. The internal storage capacity is 8GB which is expandable by another 64GB with the help of a microSD card.

It has an 8MP camera at the rear with Laser Autofocus like the LG G3 and it will improve your low light imaging capabilities by quite a good margin. Joining it is a 1.3MP front camera. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with LG's UI on top of it which is minimalistic yet functional. It gets 4G LTE for connectivity in addition to the regular 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. A 2,540 mAh battery is what gives the device the juice to run.

The smartphone seems overpriced by about Rs 10,000 and this is surely going to hurt its future prospects.

The cheaper version of the Note 3 comes loaded with decent amount of features and its price will be just above the G3 Stylus when the latter gets launched. It has a 5.5 inch 720p display, Hexa core processor with a quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 and a dual-core 1.7 GHz Cortex A15 CPU, 2GB RAM, 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded by 64GB and features a stylus with a lot of functionalities. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and is on sale for about Rs 26,000.

HTC Desire 816

The budget phablet from HTC which is on sale for about Rs 22,000. It comes with a 5.5 inch 720p display, 1.6 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, 8GB internal storage which is expandable by 128GB and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6 UI on top of it. It lacks a stylus but the specifications are way better than the G3 Stylus.

Sony Xperia C3

The selfie smartphone was just launched in India for Rs 23,999. It has a 5.5 inch 720p display, 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory expandable by 32GB, 8MP rear and 5MP front camera and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. Its camera unit will surely give it an edge over the G3 Stylus provided that the G3 Stylus gets priced somewhat similarly.

Asus Zenfone 6

This phablet will be taking on the G3 Stylus in terms of value for money. Priced at Rs 16,999, it comes with a 6 inch 720p display, 2 GHz dual core Intel processor with Hyperthreading, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgradable to KitKat, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear and 2MP front camera, 16GB internal storage expandable by 64GB and will surely be giving the G3 Stylus a run for its money.

LG has just announced two new budget smartphones and they will adorn LG's stall at the IFA 2014. They follow in the footsteps of LG G3 in terms of design philosophy and user interface. Here's a look at what they are offering:

LG L Fino

The LG L Fino is the smaller one out of the two. It has a 4.5 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It has a 1.2 GHz quad core CPU under the hood coupled with a 1GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with LG's UI on top of it. The internal storage capacity is just 4GB but it can be expanded by another 32GB with a microSD card.

At the back is an 8MP camera which is joined in by a VGA camera at the front. It gets 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS for connectivity. A 1,900 mAh battery powers the device. It will come in white, black, red, green and gold colours.

LG L Bello

The LG L Bello is the more powerful and bigger one out of the two of them. It comes with a 5.0 inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It also runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with LG's proprietary UI on top of it. Taking charge of the processing department is a 1.3 GHz quad core CPU which joins hands with a 1GB RAM.

The internal storage has been bumped to 8GB in this one and can be expanded by 32GB too. A 2,540 mAh battery gives it the juice to run and it gets the same connectivity features as its younger siblings. It will be available in white, gold and black colours.

LG G3 USER INTERFACE into the future in order to reduce and also mid array gadgets

LG plans on bringing the user interface of the flagship G3 to its other mid-range and entry level devices

LG recently launched the G3 flagship smartphone with a revised flatter UI which has a minimalist look to it yet is pretty functional. It comes with a wide array of features and now LG has made an announcement that it will be bring the UI to its entry level and mid-range smartphones alongside tablets launched in the second half of the year. LG will be standardising the UI across its entire line-up in future.

LG rolled out the Knock code functionality to its mid rangers this year after launching a flagship with it last year. LG has also embarked upon updating its devices regularly with the latest operating system in a timely manner. LG to deliver established remedy regarding unlocking bootloader

LG has confirmed that is working on an official mechanism to allow unlocking of bootloader in future smartphones

In good news for developers and tinkerers around the world, LG has confirmed that it will provide an official bootloader unlocking mechanism in future smartphones.

Unlocking the bootloader allows users to install custom ROMs on their smartphones. While the process is relatively simple for power users, people new to the concept consider it a little daunting. LG’s move will ensure that their users feel a little more comfortable with the whole process.

Some smartphone manufacturers do have an unlocking solution that provides an easy way to unlock the bootloader. HTC offers an official unlocking solution making the process a breeze.

LG has so far refrained from providing any such mechanism but the company has confirmed in an official email to XDA Developers that they are working on a safer bootloader unlocking feature along with a specific server for the task.

The Korean electronics giant has warned that the process might take some time due to technical restrictions, security issues and concerns of mobile carriers.

LG has not yet indicated if the feature will be available retrospectively for devices that the company has already released like the LG G3.

This is definitely a step in the right direction with the consumer getting greater freedom to what he wants with his phone.
